Allen G. Pastron received his Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1977. Since beginning his graduate studies at U.C. Berkeley in 1968, Dr. Pastron has conducted anthropological and archaeological research in north Africa, Mexico and, especially, at numerous sites throughout the western United States. Between 1974 and 1979, Dr. Pastron was employed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Santa Clara University.
In 1976, Dr. Pastron founded Archeo-Tec Inc., the archaeological consulting firm based in Oakland, California. Since that time, Dr. Pastron has served as President and Principal of Archeo-Tec Inc. Although Archeo-Tec Inc. conducts archaeological and anthropological research throughout Northern California, the firm specializes in historic and pre-historic archaeological investigations within the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Between the mid-1970s and the present, Archeo-Tec Inc. has been selected by both private and public sponsors to conduct historical and/or archaeological research in connection with more than 300 development projects throughout the San Francisco Bay area. These projects ranged in scope from archival site assessments to major archaeological tests and mitigations of both prehistoric and historic period sites. In his capacity of President of Archeo-Tec Inc., Dr. Pastron has written more than 200 cultural resource reports and/or professional publications concerning the history and/or archaeology of the San Francisco Bay region.

1986-1989: Principal Archaeological Consultant for the Vallejo Mills Historic Park, Fremont, Alameda County, California. Sponsored by the City of Fremont. Research involved the systematic investigation and evaluation of Jose de Jesus Vallejo's 1841 adobe grist mill and associated features.
1986-1989: Principal Archaeological consultant for the Calveras Pipeline Replacement Project, located in the Sunol Regional Park, Alameda County, California. Sponsored by the City and County of San Francisco. Research entailed the excavation, analysis and interpretation of several prehistoric and/or protohistoric archaeological sites, including CA-ALA-428/H.
1988: Principal Archaeological Consultant for the Federal Office Building Project, Oakland, Alameda County, California. Research entailed a systematic archival and archaeological assessment of an approximately three-acre site located in downtown Oakland, California. Sponsored by the General Services Administration.
1988: Principal Archaeological Consultant for the proposed Altamont Class II Sanitary Landfill Project, Alameda County, California. Research entailed a systematic archival and archaeological assessment of a wide variety of prehistoric/protohistoric and historic period archaeological sites identified within the borders of an approximately 1,020 acre parcel located in the Altamont Pass region of eastern Alameda County, California. Archeo-Tec's work was sponsored by Environmental Science Associates (ESA), located in San Francisco, California.
1994: Principal Archaeological Consultant for the proposed Oak Knoll Development Project, Oakland, Alameda County, California. Sponsored by Kaufman and Broad of Northern California Inc. Research entailed a systematic archival and archaeological assessment of an approximately 20-acre site located in Oakland, California.
